Welcome traveler, you have found the Home Page of The Clan Seeker
This is what one can expect to find here:
Clan Plan
Purpose/Goals --
The ultimate goal of the clan is easily stated and nearly impossible to
attain: To document the most minute detail of every zone in the vast world
that is Eclipse of Fate. Members will aspire to map every zone. They will
seek to document every piece of equipment through inspection and
identification. Members will find and defeat each and every creature the
world contains. Members of Clan Seeker will keep exploration journals
documenting their various findings and will make regular contributions to
the clan knowledge pool. Above all, members will support and guide other
members throughout their treks, both personal and clan-oriented.
Punishments/rewards --
Punishments and rewards are based on your
performance both in clan activities and in the MUD in general. You will be
expected to make meaningful contributions to the clan through your Tasks and
your general experiences on the MUD. You will be expected to help low level
characters, whether they be clan members or not. You will be asked to be of
assistance whenever possible to all characters outside of the clan. Of
course, we expect you to go out of your way entirely to help a fellow clan
mate. Your actions reflect directly on the clan, and thus we do require
that you maintain a certain level of social behavior. Players will be
cautioned if their behavior becomes too extreme or if their participation
drops below expectations.
Clan leaders will attempt to work with clan members who have difficulty
with the above requirements. Warnings and constructive advice will be used
first, followed by punishments. Ultimately, players who refuse to indulge
in clan requirements will be expelled from the clan.
All clan members will watch for players who work above and beyond what is
expected of them. Players who do so unselfishly (aka not actively seeking
to be rewarded for their efforts) will receive a variety of rewards
including, but not limited to: lower fees, advanced rank, gold or special
equipment, fewer Tasks, or even a clan-purchased private house.
Clan leaders will be encouraged to be fair and creative in handling both
punishments and rewards.
Requirements --
Joining: Invitation, level 50 or higher and 10K coins.
Monthly Dues: 50K coins.
Advancing: See the following table for info on attaining each rank in the clan.
| Ranks | Money Required | Tasks | Special |
| 1 | 50k | ---- | ---- |
| 2 | 50k | 1 | ---- |
| 3 | 100k | 2 | Q |
| 4 | 150k | 2 | ---- |

Q = A 10 question quiz designed to test a new member's basic knowledge of the clan plan.
A = Observable assistance to a low level character.
T = Forming a Task for another member.
V = Vanguard-given test/Task for advancement.
SC = Special consideration.
Please note: The chart is simply a guideline. Clan leaders reserve the
right to impose more conditions on players whom they determine need to prove
themselves further before advancing. Conversely, players who demonstrate
clan participation above and beyond what is expected can be rewarded with
advanced rank, lower advancement fees, fewer Tasks, etc.
Ranks
Pet -- (Level 50+) This rank is reserved for the clan's mascot. Only one
player at a time will hold this rank.
(Clan Powers: Deposit)
Hopeless Newbie -- (Level 50-100) The first exploratory rank, this position
is for new members of the clan. At this level, players familiarize
themselves with the clan and its members. They also perform basic
beneficial Tasks for the clan to prove their seriousness about clan
participation.
Wanderer -- (Level 101-175) Members who achieve this rank will be required
to perform basic recognizance in specific zones. Mapping lower level zones
and identifying items will be the main duties of these members.
Explorer -- (Level 176-250) We expect members that reach the Explorer rank
to have proven their seriousness about clan participation and will be
required to make meaningful contributions through exploration projects. At
this rank, members will need to start their exploration journals, recording
every aspect of the zones which they explore.
Scout -- (Level 251-325) A Scout should have a thorough knowledge of zones
at and below their experience level. Scouts will actively participate in
the advancement of lower rank clan members; providing equipment, advice and
support when needed.
Guide -- (Level 326-400) Guides have a vast knowledge of the MUD and will be
expected to use that knowledge to develop quests and Tasks for lower level
members. Of course, Guides will also have their own Tasks to perform as
part of their duties to the clan.
(Clan Powers: Enroll)
Ranger -- (Level 401-500) Rangers will continue a trend of helping lower
ranking members. They will also decide where they would like to specialize
-- as Orienteers or as Scribes. The Tasks Rangers are given will reflect
their ultimate goal.
Orienteer -- (Level 500+) Orienteers are Rangers who have chosen to
specialize in active promotion of the clan. They will be the recruiters.
They will be in charge of clan public relations. Orienteers will also take
on the most difficult and dangerous exploration Tasks. The majority of the
PK clan guardsmen will most likely fall under this rank.
(Clan Powers: Promote, Demote)
Scribe -- (Level 500+) Scribes will focus on the internal health of the
clan. They will be the main administrators of the clan. They will collect
and maintain items in the clan treasury. Scribes will have access to the
clan bank. The main duty of the Scribe, however, is to sort out the massive
collection of information gleaned from the countless treks made by the other
clan members.
(Clan Powers: Withdraw, Expel)
Vanguard -- (Level 500+) The preeminent leader(s) of the clan. Members who
achieve this rank are ultimately responsible for the health and well-being
of clan members and of the clan in general. Vanguards work directly with
the Clan Imm concerning any clan questions or problems. Vanguards have
ultimate and absolute say in how the clan is organized and what position
each member will hold within the clan. Every clan member is directly
answerable to the Vanguard.
(Clan Powers: Setfees)
Policies --
Here listed are some general clan policies which pertain to various
aspects of the game.
Player Killing -- Though it is horrible that players will kill other
players, it is also a harsh reality of life. Any clan would be lax if they
did not allow for some sort of protection against individuals or other
clans. Thus, the clan grudgingly allows its members to choose their own
player killer status. However, player hunting - the practice of hunting
down and killing other players for sport - is strictly forbidden. We are,
above all, a benevolent clan and such acts of violence are intolerable.
Members found participating in such barbaric "sport" will be immediately
kicked out of the clan.
Tithing -- Tithing, the practice of giving a percentage of your earned
gold to the clan, is strictly voluntary. We encourage each member to give
as much gold as they can afford to help the clan grow and progress, however
we only require the fees stated above.
Banking -- Only Scribes and Vanguards can withdraw money from the clan bank.
However, they will do so for a member gladly if there is cause. Some
acceptable causes are: purchasing an item, practicing guild skills/spells,
buying a personal house, etc. We trust our clansmen and will help finance
most any endeavor to help a fellow clan mate.
Exploration Journal -- Clan members of rank 5 or higher will be required to
keep a journal of sorts documenting their adventures. The journal can be as
detailed as you like, however, it is critical that you include any equipment
that you identify, mobs you encounter and secrets you find in the various
zones. The journal is mostly for your use in proving the completion of your
Tasks and for reporting valuable information to the clan. Each player's
journal will greatly benefit the entire clan.
Clan vs. MUD -- It seems that there is a great deal involved with clan
membership. We understand this and will try to make Tasks and other
requirements fit as closely with your normal game play as possible.
However, being in the clan IS a responsibility. It is also a privilege,
not a right. As the clan grows, we hope that the benefits will grow also.
As a member, you will help shape the future of Clan Seeker.
